We primarily serve homeowners throughout Long Island, New York, offering in-person consultations and site evaluations.

We also design for clients outside Long Island, provided that local zoning regulations, building codes, and municipal requirements are supplied by the homeowner or contractor. This ensures your design aligns with your town’s specific compliance standards.

Our process is professional, structured, and collaborative:

Most residential landscape designs are completed within 2–6 weeks, depending on property size, scope, and responsiveness during the revision phase. Larger master plans or phased properties may require additional time.

  To start your project, we typically require:

• Property survey (if available)

All design services must be paid in full prior to the start of any work. Once payment is received, your project will be placed into our active design schedule and work will begin.

Design fees are non-refundable once the design process has started, as services are customized specifically to your property and project goals. Full payment terms, scope of work, and project details are clearly outlined in your proposal before approval. Cancellation Policy can be invoked if cancelled before design work has started, which has a set fee. See cancellation policy for more details.

Because each landscape design is custom-created specifically for your property, the following cancellation terms apply:

• Before the First Proof Is Sent: If you choose to cancel your project before the first design proof has been delivered, a $200.00 cancellation fee will be retained. 
• After the First Proof Is Sent: Once the initial design proof has been delivered, all payments become non-refundable.
   
• All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.

Yes. All design packages include a specified number of revision rounds (outlined in your proposal). Additional revisions can be added if needed with additional cost. 

Yes. Many homeowners choose to build their outdoor space in stages. We can create a master plan that allows for phased implementation over time.

Ruby’s Design Synergy is a design-focused firm and does not provide pricing or bids for physical installation, construction, or landscaping work.

All construction costs, material pricing, labor estimates, and contractor agreements must be obtained directly from your selected contractor or landscape professional.

While designs are created with real-world construction knowledge in mind, final installation pricing will vary based on contractor rates, material selections, site conditions, and current market costs.

We are happy to collaborate with your contractor during the bidding process to clarify design intent and ensure accurate interpretation of the plans.

Ruby’s Design Synergy reserves the right to photograph, video record, and document completed projects for portfolio, website, social media, advertising, and promotional purposes.

By engaging our design services, clients grant permission for the use of project-related imagery, renderings, plans, and finished installation photography for marketing and educational use.

No personal identifying information (such as home address or client names) will be publicly disclosed without written consent.

If a client prefers their project remain private, a written request must be submitted prior to project commencement.

Upon project completion, clients receive the finalized design documents as outlined in their selected package. Deliverables are provided in standard, non-editable formats suitable for contractor use and construction reference.

Ruby’s Design Synergy does not provide raw, source, or editable working files (including CAD files, layered design files, or proprietary templates) unless otherwise agreed to in writing and subject to an additional licensing fee.

Designs may not be altered, resold, redistributed, or transferred to another designer for modification without written consent.

All original design concepts, drafts, and working files remain the intellectual property of Ruby’s Design Synergy.

Ruby’s Design Synergy provides professional design services only. Construction execution, installation methods, material selection during build, and contractor workmanship are solely the responsibility of the hired contractor and property owner.

We are not liable for field modifications, material substitutions, pricing changes, permit approvals, code compliance adjustments, or site conditions that differ from the information provided during the design phase.

Unforeseen variables such as soil conditions, drainage issues, grading differences, underground utilities, or structural limitations may require adjustments during installation. Any changes made without written design consultation fall outside the responsibility of Ruby’s Design Synergy.

While our designs are developed with practical construction knowledge, final build results and implementation decisions remain under the direction of the contractor and homeowner.
